I don't have any tattoos, (and probably never will) but I love the idea that some people's tattoos are visible signs or declarations of learning, of a next step, a goal, a promise to self. Beautiful.
I remember growing up with all of the different stories people told me about who I was. None of them were bad- in fact, most of them were incredibly generous and encouraging. But, even after 34 years, I am still finding myself undoing the stories other told me about myself, because they didn't fit then, and certainly do not fit now. When I grow up, I want to be... exactly who I should be. AND a mother who sees her children for who they are, to help them grow fully into themselves.
All your prompts result in some soul-digging, Julie, and I can hardly wait to dive into this one. Many thanks for being the "writing-assist voice" I find so valuable.

I loved this, Julie. Thank you.
Thanks for reading, Rebecca!
Julie, This is so great. I’m not sure what my sign would say- maybe just be kind and it would be as much for me as everyone else
That sign is always appropriate, Mary.

Beautiful comment. Such a powerful stance, to reclaim your story, and set out to parent that way too.
I just love this idea. I shared it to my Facebook feed. Thank you, Julie. ❤️
