Me too! Thanks

My latest rescue, a 1-yr-old German Shepherd, has so far attempted to eat the legs off the dining room table, and has destroyed at least three sets of wired headphones. I’ll be sure to put my journal and pens on a higher shelf.

Headphones! Good reminder to protect those too. Thanks, Irma.

Thank you for the prompt. Forgive me if you already read this but it’s too close not to share- my dog recently started eating books too 😂

I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I shared your post on short memoirs either my memoir class last night and told them about your prompts. It was a powerful exercise and prompt. We had a lot of fun. Thank you!

YUM!!! I love strawberries also!!! Any chance you might share your strawberry pie recipe? I use my Mother's recipe, but your pie crust sounds divine!!! Thanks in advance, and if you don't share because it's a family favorite recipe, I understand that also!!! Have a wonderful day! Laura Mann

Hi Laura, let's swap recipes! I'll add it to the post comments a bit later today. I mistakenly copy/pasted the comment button from last week's post onto this one so your comment went on The Dog Ate My Journal. (Sorry!) I've fixed it on the Substack post page, and that's where I'll add the recipe. Thanks!

My Mother's Strawberry Pie.....

2 deep dish baked pie shells or 1 small (9") baked pie shell

1 quart strawberries, cut in pieces

1 3 oz. package strawberry jello

1 cup sugar

2 T cornstarch

2 cups water

Bake the pie crust until done and let cool.

In a saucepan, stir the sugar, cornstarch and strawberry jello to smooth the lumps, then add the water and bring to a boil and cook til clear (about 2 minutes). Let this cool, but not congeal. Add the strawberries to the baked pie crust and pour the cooked mixture over the the strawberries. Refrigerate until "set". Serve with whipped cream or cool whip and ENJOY!!!
