This is a lovely photo. Reminds me of shopping with my mom for a wedding dress -- i tried on many traditional dresses but I don’t love white, so we bought a sage green dress at a formal wear boutique. I’ve written that story before -- i’ll have to find where it is and dust it off.
For 50 years my wedding dress has lived on the top shelf of a little used closet along with the wedding shoes. Why? I think I will make that my prompt for today. Why is it hard to let go?
This image of disembodied wedding gowns is a glorious writing prompt, Julie. I'm reminded of the description of on-call women sitting in backlit windows in Amsterdam from John Irving's novel, A Widow for One Year. For the emotional and spiritual spaces I'm inhabiting right now, it is timely and perfect. Thank you ~ getting busy writing.
And, I wish you a speedy recovery from the virus. Good to know you're practicing gentleness with yourself, with a bit of frivolity tossed in.
SO sorry you got the "gift" of COVID from the Annual Event, Julie...as did our Educator of the Year and some of her family, and our SCRAPCE president-elect. Here's hoping the virus departs and leaves no aftereffects, as quickly as possible. As for the whole wedding dress "thing," this stirs up a great deal in me. Thanks for offering us this writing seed; I'm definitely going to plant it and see what grows. Peace, rest, and better health be yours!

Hope you are continuing to rest and recover.
