I grew up in a house which always had a kitchen table, and it was the centre of the universe. The house I lived in last had one, too. I ache to live in a place with space for a kitchen table - our kitchen is long and narrow, and what I'd love is for a space for a table (there isn't), where I could drink tea, make calls, eat, write, work on projects, do the crossword, look up recipes, do my online grocery order, chat with visitors, roll out pastry..... I love our home, but there's something missing - and it's a kitchen table.

I hear that, Rebecca. Hoping you find a way to ease that ache, wherever home is now.
