Welcome to Writing in Company. This is a community for you, whatever your experience with writing. It’s an invitation to write about what matters—grief, gratitude, grace, and more. Each week I share some words and a writing prompt, meant to be jumping-off points. Use the prompts however you like—to journal, to draft thoughts for your own writing project, as meditation or prayer ideas, or for another creative endeavor. You can always look back through the archive for more ideas. Grab your pen and paper, and let your words loose on the page.
No extra words today, just two photos from Québec City, taken from below along the street called Rue du Cul-de-Sac in the Quartier Petit Champlain. Use them as your prompt today. Whatever they bring up for you, begin there. Keep your pen moving, and follow your thoughts on the page.

Prayers for you and your family, as well as so very many in western nc who have experienced the catastrophic devastation of Helene. We have a place in Banner Elk that is our "paradise" and has been a place of renewal for our spirits and bodies for several years, and I'm praying it is still there when we can finally get up there to see for ourselves. there is hope in the despair, and this morning I thank you for giving me the prompts and encouragement to just write!
Peace, Julie
