Thank you for “delight radar” and “joy muscle.” These concepts might make it into a piece I’m working on.

I adore your camper!

Thinking about joining the workshop, but hard to know how my May will pan out. I will make a decision soon!

Good morning Julie,

Your writing prompt was quite magical today and the videos on people who create miniature environments were fascinating. It inspired me today and hope I can actually write about it.

I’m so glad to hear about Ada’s workshop and look forward to reading more. I think you and I have the same reading tastes—I’m eagerly waiting for James Crews’ newest too. Yes, write about the fairy gardens at Christmas!

Julie, I love reading your posts. I’m going to write about Ada’s workshop in my post this coming week. It was amazing and exceeded my expectations. One of the things she said that is sticking with me is that some things are just so big, it’s hard to write about them. So start small. Let the small thing take you back to the big thing. So maybe I’ll write about that Christmas we took the kids to visit the fairies garden - all the tiny, beautiful, magical things and maybe it will lead me to something bigger and maybe it won’t. Maybe I’ll just delight in the joy we all felt about how someone took so much care to make something so small and lovely. Now I’m thinking of making doll houses with my Grandma out of shoe boxes. James Crews has a new anthology coming out which I already pre-ordered, The Wonder of Small Things. Grateful. 😊

A Borrower's fan still, I love miniature items. Maybe it's the hope of seeing the bigger picture and from a distance where understanding seems more possible. Maybe it's more--or less.

Just today, I shared my 'joy list' on Substack! It's amazing how the little things can bring so much joy!
